Personally, I'm hoping that after their first run sales are done and they've made the majority of the money they are going to make that they'll release a patch to remove this awful DRM (aweful because I can't play it when I don't have internet, like when I go up to my mountain home, or even in the backyard here where we only have wired internet and not wireless etc), but if not I'll play the game for a while and then shelve it. If there were a cracked version that didn't need to connect to the DRM server and yet still allow me to FULLY play the game, I'd surely crack my Steam bought version of Settlers 7, unless ubisoft really does have plans to put out a patch in say 6 months or 1 year that will remove the drm from it like they have done with Settlers 6 after the first run sales were over. At the same time the ubisoft forums were also down (coincidence? I don't think so, probably some hackers DOS attacking it again), other than those two brief interruptions the DRM has worked fine. I've had two issues of server unavailable while in the middle of playing the game where I did as the message instructed and saved my game, then exited.
